The WSB employee health benefits offer holistic, year-round support to help staff achieve and maintain optimal health and well-being in three major areas.
The WSB extended health plan provides:
- a) Medical for the basics BC Health Care doesn’t cover
- b) Support during unexpected or difficult circumstances
- c) Coverage for extended medical services
Medical for the basics BC Health doesn’t cover:
The WSB is pleased to remind all staff they have hundreds of dollars (varies by individual) per calendar year to spend on basic medical services like the following:
- Dental care
- Optometry
- Massage
- Chiropractic
- Physio
- Osteothapy
- Acupuncture.
Extended benefits that provide support for unexpected or difficult times:
WSB extended health benefits also support staff outside of routine medical appointments.
In the case of an accident, illness, trauma or any situation where an employee is unable to work for a short period of time, temporary disability can pay up to 75% of your wage for up to 16 weeks while you focus on getting better.
In addition, counseling is also available to support staff through physical, emotional or mental challenges.
Expanded Medical Support:
The WSB also offers coverage for expanded medical services, for many circumstances beyond basic health care.
From fertility treatments to orthotics to stop-smoking aids, staff have expanded medical coverage for many items that otherwise could cost hundreds if not thousands.
