EARLY LEARNING AND CARE NEWS

Early learning and care is a 2-year diploma program. We have a cohort of 10 students who have been very busy doing their first aide and getting their portfolio’s ready for the childcare centres that they will be visiting. The cohort has been on field trips to different childcare centres such as Little Star in Cobble Hill, Metis Childcare centre. The cohort has also gone to PKOLS, Goldstream, Camosun Bookstore and a Pit cook that was held at Camosun.
For TRC, I brought in an activity for the class to do, they painted rocks and wrote words on them, we then went and placed them outside for others to enjoy. The cohort is in their last couple of weeks of their first semester and they are all doing an amazing job, they are all busy utilizing the tutor they have on Tuesdays and Thursdays to get guidance on papers they are working on for different classes.
ELC Cohort you’re doing an amazing job and I hope you all have a well rested holiday and get ready for second semester!
Helena and Aleka Norris are from the cohort before this one, they join this cohort for PSYCH and ENG. These two are coming to the end of their studies soon and will be certified ECE’s. Congratulations on all your hard work!
