ÍY SȻÁĆEL HÁLE. ESE SȽEMXÁMTENOT from W̱SÁNEĆ, Tsawout First Nation. My name is Kendra Underwood, and I am honoured to work as Director of the Saanich Adult Education Centre (SAEC) for the W̱SÁNEĆ School Board. For the past sixteen years, I have worked alongside our staff team to provide educational programming leading to the Adult Dogwood and post-secondary opportunities in community. I draw passion from exploring new program ideas and hearing from students about additional services we can put in place to assist with student success at our Centre. HÍSW̱KE HALE!

My name is Kevin Monkman.  I am Cree from Peguis First Nation on my father’s side, and Welsh and German on my mother’s side.  I am the Humanities instructor at the SAEC, primarily teaching several English levels, but also elective courses ranging from Digital Media Development and Digital Photography to Work Experience.  I have had the privilege of being a guest on W̱SÁNEĆ territory and working at the SAEC for 15 years.  During this time I have taught many community members, and I have been lucky to see so many people reach their goals.

My name Kim Linkert and I have been teaching in the W̱SÁNEĆ community for close to 30 years.
Teaching responsibilities: math, inclusive education and outdoor education.

My name is Chelsey Mills. I’m from Pauquachin Nation and Haida Nation. I am working towards an Indigenous studies program and then I plan to apply to the Indigenous Law program.

My name is Kalem Lindberg and I am from Sylvan lake Alberta.  I’ve been a student for a total of 11 years but I just recently came back to start again after leaving school during my grade 11 year.  I am now an adult student at the SAEC and I am on track to graduate in June 2023, after which I plan to apply to university.

My name is Kachina Henry. I am 26 years old and I am from the Tsartlip First Nation. I am within reach of my Grade 12 graduation and will complete in June 2023. I have 4 children that I want to show that having an education is important.  My goal once I am done grade 12 is to work in an office environment.
