W̱SÁNEĆ Leadership Secondary School has been approved to participate in a youth exchange. Through this program, WLSS students will be able to see a part of the country that is completely different from their home, experience a variety of different foods and cultures and form lasting friendships with the students from a different community.
Experiences Canada is a non-profit organization funded by the federal government that offers the opportunity for Canadian students to travel across the country. It believes that the shared experience of an exchange encourages mutual respect and understanding between young people and has a lasting positive impact on their lives.
Students participating in the exchange will be twinned with a student from Rideau District High School in Elgin, Ontario. Students will stay with their twin’s family while out of province. The length of the trip will be approximately 7 days stretched over a weekend so that the students lose the minimum amount of class time possible. The same will happen when the Ontario students host our out of province guests. Read Full Parent Letter Here.
