Dear Parents and Families,

As September is quickly approaching and families are preparing for a return to school the W̱SÁNEĆ School Board wanted to provide families with an update on changes to our School Supply Subsidy program for the 2020/2021 school year. In light of the current global pandemic the W̱SÁNEĆSchool Board understand the importance of every students having their own designated package of school supplies to lessen potential COVID-19 transmission in the school setting.

As school continues to operate differently due to COV1D-19, with students starting the year enrolled in virtual programming through W̱SÁNEĆ School Board and in-class instruction for public and private school students, the W̱SÁNEĆ School Board has chosen to roll out subsidy in an approach that best supports students in both methods of delivery.

The 2020/2021 School Supply Subsidy will be provided with half of the funding used by the W̱SÁNEĆ School Board to purchase and provide pre-packaged school supplies for students based on their grade level. The remaining half will be provided in a cheque to families to help support additional needs as students prepare for school. The School Supply Subsidy will revert back to regular process once the pandemic resolves.

Esther Morris will be registering families for 2020/2021 school year from August 24 – 28th in the Administration office. Families can also use this opportunity to register in-person for ȽÁU, WELṈEW̱ Tribal School, W̱SÁNEĆ Leadership Secondary School and Saanich Adult Education Programs.

We kindly remind everyone to refrain from coming to the organization if you are unwell or have been in close contact with someone who is unwell.
