Criteria

The successful candidate(s) must demonstrate or provide the following:

  1. A grade 11 Nominal Roll student residing on one of the W̱SÁNEĆ nations (Tsartlip, Tseycum, Tsawout, Pauquachin). Please provide a written statement about your connection to the nation you reside on.
  2. Involved in school activities. Please state your involvement in the written application.
  3. Demonstrates cultural pride along with the values of the W̱SÁNEĆ people (honesty, respect, caring, trust, and sharing). Please provide an example in your written application on how you have demonstrated cultural pride and/or values.
  4. Provide at least one letter of support from a teacher, counselor, or coach.
  5. Registered student in W̱SÁNEĆ School Board.

Nominal Roll students who feel that they qualify for this award should submit their written application to the W̱SÁNEĆ School Board Selection Committee. The committee is comprised of School Principals and Vice-Principals and representatives from the W̱SÁNEĆ School Board and Administration Team. In your application please note the full title of the award you are applying for.

A monetary prize worth $200.00 will be awarded.
